CDFG wins the Hong Kong International Airport duty free liquor & tobacco concession

 Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) announced the award of Liquor & Tobacco concession at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) on April 5th 2017. CDF- Lagardère Company Limited, a joint venture formed by China Duty Free Group (hereinafter referred to as CDFG) and Lagardère Travel Retail won the tender amidst a strong field of contenders and was awarded duty free contract for liquor and tobacco products starting from the end of this year. CDFG is a subsidiary of China International Travel Service Corporation Limited, which is wholly-owned by China National Travel Service Group.

 
As an international and regional aviation hub, HKIA connects more than 190 destinations in the world, including 40 cities in mainland China. HKIA achieved a record high of 70.5 million passenger handling capacity in 2016. Being one of the world’s busiest airports, the importance of its liquor & tobacco business to the world’s duty free industry is self-evident.
 
 
The liquor & tobacco tender covered eight stores with a total operating size of around 3,400sqm. CDF- Lagardère Company Limited aims to set a new benchmark in liquor and tobacco duty free industry through three dimensions: products, experience and service. Products: leveraging on the combined strength of CDFG and Lagardère Travel Retail and offering an appealing product mix, including the world’s largest Chinese Liquor and Tobacco corner, a House of Single Malt plus an exclusive Asian Liquor concept store and a dedicated Hong Kong Gourmet section to name a few. Experience: introducing customer interactive zones that include showcasing of manufacturing process of products, VR shopping and tasting bars. Service: building a Customer Service promise program and dedicating Customer Service Desks as well as an in-store VIP lounge. By putting in place these comprehensive measures, the company is confident in bringing the most unique shopping experience to passengers at HKIA.
