CDF Made a Stage Pose at the 2017 TFWA China's Century Conference Successfully

 CDF General Manager Chen Guoqiang and COO Lee Charn Cheng attended the 2017 TFWA China's Century Conference held in Guangzhou from March 7 to 9, 2017. This is the third time that the TFWA exhibition was held in China, highlighting the important position of Chinese market in the global tourism retail market. Still adopting the theme of "China's Century", the Conference attracted more than 400 representatives of global airports, travel retailers and brand owners.

On the first day of the Conference, TFWA President Erik Juul-Mortensen delivered a speech. He noted that the Chinese market maintains a good development trend in the circumstances that the global tax exemption and tourism retail market is constantly changing. His remarks were widely recognized by the attending representatives. At the invitation of the Conference, CDF General Manager Chen Guoqiang delivered a keynote speech titled "Embracing Changes and Releasing Potentials". He said: "China's tourism retail market underwent a series of changes last year. For example, Chinese government promoted the consumption backflow by improving the duty-free policy. Thanks to the booming Chinese domestic tourism market and outbound tourism market and the reconstruction and expansion of China's large international hub airports, China's tourism industry gained enormous development vitality and power. In 2016, Chinese mainland's luxury goods market started to rebound after three years of downturn. With the increase in the proportion of free travel of Chinese tourists, the elements of tourists and the tourism industry chain are more closely interlinked. Besides, cruise tourism develops fast in China. In 2016, China received 4,523,000 entry and exit cruise tourists, with an increase of 82% over the previous year, thereby becoming an emerging market enjoying the fastest growth in the world's cruise tourism industry. The changes of Chinese consumers are particularly prominent. The millennials have been the backbone of China's tourism retail market. For example, according to the consumer data of Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex, the millennials from 24 to 33 years old account for up to 46% of the consumers.
